WELCOME TO MY FIFTH YEAR

What is that exactly...?

I'm about to enter my fifth year in remission, what many see as the best anniversary ever after treatment. To mark this year, I've decided to take on several challenges and fundraising goals to accomplish - and I'd like to invite you to do the same. Throughout my fifth year I, and who ever else is willing, will be fundraising for several charities who helped me throughout my treatment - who deserve a million thank you's from me! Then on my fifth anniversary, when the year is up, I plan to host a huge charity ball to tally up the year's fundraising total and hopefully raise some more!
So, in the meantime, I thought I would blog about my year, the challenges I'll be completing and generally share my story.

ABOUT ME

I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma in May 2013, at the age of 18. 7 rounds of chemotherapy later and I was put into remission in November 2013. Throughout my treatment I was supported by many amazing charities who I will forever be indebted to. Teenage Cancer Trust, CLIC Sargent, Teens Unite and Little Princess Trust.
Since leaving hospital I have taken every opportunity possible; travelling the world, getting a first at university and just generally living life to the full. Now, I want to use my fifth year of remission to give back to those incredible charities and raise both awareness and funds for them. So, please, join me throughout my fifth year - whether that's as a fellow fundraiser (fundraising tips to follow) or a supporter, I hope you enjoy following My Fifth Year.
